Restoration is Mario Quaranta's true passion.
You have to be an excellent shipbuilder to guarantee a good restoration, historical research is essential: construction plans, photographs of the time, notes from the shipyard, testimonies of the time are very important.
Immersing yourself in the typology of historical workmanship allows you to appreciate its evolution and share the evolution of yachting over the decades.
The same goes for the choice of wood, nails, glues, and equipment that must strictly respect the typology of the time with very few concessions to modernity.
The most important restorations we have faced are:
- CROIX DES CARDES Cutter Marconi from 1947 mt 15.50
- Award for the best restoration 1992
- SHELMALIER Cutter Marconi 1936 mt 18.00
- VARUNA 12 M S.I. of 1909
- Award for the best restoration 2002
- Followed by the TIRRENIA II, BONITA, MAIPIù, AL NAIR IV, BELLA SECONDA, LEGNO DURO and numerous Rivas.
- Last in terms of time a splendid Dragone of 1963 of French construction with a complete restoration.
The shipyard is currently engaged in the recovery of La Meloria, a 13.50 meter long Bermudian sloop built by Camper & Nicholson in 1967 and winner of the Giraglia in 1970.
